The participants get to meet a network of mentors consisting of industry leaders, experts, academics and investors in a private forum.
The participants meet in a design sprint where we explore new business models and partnerships to address the ecosystem's key challenges.
The participants get the opportunity to present their insights and new partnerships that have resulted from the program to an international audience of entrepreneurs, business leaders, investors and industry experts.
In the 1950s, less than 30% of the world’s population lived in cities. Today, that proportion has risen to 54% and it is expected to grow to 66% by 2050. This rapid urbanization puts a massive pressure on our infrastructure and technologies to adapt to the ways in which we will live our lives in the future. However, as technology continues to improve the quality of our lives it also poses a number of challenges.
Our growing use of technology and connected devices in our homes consumes vast amounts of energy – in fact, 25% of the energy consumption in the EU comes from households. Moreover, as we continue to enjoy the benefits of increasing connectivity in our homes we also agree to share a larger portion of our personal lives on the internet, and Forbes has placed The Next Security and Privacy Crisis as the number one prediction for the future of smart home technology.
That is why we have set the Future of Homes, with a focus on Energy Management and Customer Privacy, as the theme of this program. Our ambition is to gather some of the most innovative, influential and ambitious organizations and actors in the ecosystem to come together and find new ways to cooperate and innovate to accelerate their commercial growth and simultaneously address some of tomorrow’s key challenges for the future of homes.
